Antebellum Valentines
In the 1840s, greeting cards for various occasions began to appear. Cards for Valentines day were widely popular and every girl dreamed of getting one from her beau. Many were straight forward declarations of affection, others were humorous, others still were somewhat surreal. All are interesting.
