Cemeteries can be places of great artistic and historical significance.  They can also contain many lapidary oddities such as this stone in Buffalo Springs Cemetery near Stanford in Lincoln County.  We can surmise from his stone, that W.G. McBee was a blacksmith.  His stone was made in the shape of an anvil mounted to a stump and is complete with the hammer and even the rods used to hold the anvil fast to the stump.
